Of course you could always do a “staycation” and never leave home – lol.
But here are some good tips to help stay in your budget.
1.Book your flights in the afternoon. Prices tend to be higher in the morning.
2. Check prices on the less popular booking site.
3. Se up flight alerts. Sites like Airfarewatchdog.com or the app Hopper
4. Choose affordable accommodation/ Use booking.com to find the best prices.
5. Earn money while traveling ; teach English.
6. Become a house -sitter. Trustedhousesitters.com is a good site.
7. Roaming charges are VERY high. Purchase an international package with your current carrier
8. Shop like a local
9. Make use of your carry on – fill it up with as much as you can. Use one bag.
10. Don’t change currency at the airport.
11. Find free wifi – don’t pay for it.

14. Get multi-day passes for getting around town – hop on, hop off buses.
15. Use public transportation, not taxis
16. Make lunchtime your biggest meal of the day. It’s usually much cheaper

21. Find festivals or any out door big event. Many times there are free snacks and drinks.
22, While at a festival offer to tend the store while the owner goes to the bathroom. (I sold beer in Brazil – made a good friend and got lots of free beer.
23. If you are in a small venue – hitch hike rides (works for me at the Catalina jazz Festival)
23. Barter with the locals – you them them something of yours in exchange for something of theirs. Makes a great keepsake.
