Heat can sneak up and overwhelm you and before you know it your body temperature is over 103F. Watch for hot, red, dry or sweaty skin. Notice your heart rate. Your pulse maybe rapid and strong and you maybe be headed to unconsciousness.
What to do ? –
Move to a cooler location. lie down, loosen your clothing, apply cool, wet towels to your head, face and neck. If you are vomiting more than once – seek medical attention. If a person “falls out” due to heat stroke, call 911, move to cooler environment and reduce the persons body temperature (putting cool, not ice cold, towels on parts of the body) Do Not give fluids.
Have a great vacation, enjoy the sun and be careful.
